Denver Broncos cornerback Tracy Porter was listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the New Orleans Saints as he continues to deal with symptoms that matched those that preceded a seizure he suffered in August. "It's a pretty scary thought process. Thankfully I came through," Porter said of the situation. "Things are steadily going in a positive direction for me, and I can only hope that it continues to go in that positive direction, that I continue to improve."
Porter said that everything "looked normal" during a doctor's visit on Thursday, but that he won't be cleared to play until he's 100 percent.
"They haven't put a finger on the cause of it. You want to know the cause of it, but if they can't pinpoint it, they say it's a good thing and it's not likely you're going to have any more," Porter said. "With them saying that, that takes a little stress off my chest. That makes me feel a little bit better."
Porter signed with the Broncos in the offseason as a free agent from New Orleans. If he doesn't play, Chris Harris and Tony Carter could help fill his void against the Saints.
"We have a next-man-up philosophy around here and they stepped in and did very well and we expect them to," head coach John Fox said. "They're on the 53-man roster, they're eligible to play. If they're on the active 46 for the game, anybody, we expect to be able to play. Whatever their role is going in, we have a lot of changes of those roles during games so that's what we expect."
